There's nothing like "Atlantic Pacific" on nationality or ethnicity. You are not amphibians, at least the gills jumped into the process of birth. =)
Under current law, shows how at Wikipedia, "the law of the United States that the native anchored on foreign vessels in U.S. ports or born in the territorial waters of the kingdom. UU. Are U.S. citizens.
An important exception to this rule is that children born to men
not subject to "the jurisdiction" of the United States (eg, diplomats at the Department of State United States accredited) are not automatically U.S. citizens. Despite popular belief, on the contrary, the birth on board a US-flag vessel or aircraft of passengers over 12 miles (22.2 km) limit to (not as a birth in the territory of the United States and the principle of jus soli, the Latin for "apply jus soli" or figuratively, "right of territory"), or birthright citizenship is not.
Countries that have acceded to the Convention of 1961 on the re -Reduction of statelessness would grant citizenship to people who would otherwise be born stateless characterized in its territory or on a ship or aircraft by the country. The growing concern about illegal immigration into the United States has led some of the deletion of jus soli, but the 14th Amendment prevented. The Constitution of the citizens all persons born in the United States, where they are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States at the time of his birth - that is, not the children of foreign diplomats and people like that are not subject to diplomatic immunity of the jurisdiction of the United states, while in the country by diplomats end. This interpretation of "under the jurisdiction of the United States was officially in 1898 by a decision of the Supreme Court by 6-2 United States v. Wong Kim Ark 169 U.S. generated 649 (1898). In this case, the Court held that the author was born in the United States and under the jurisdiction of the United States at the time of his birth because his parents were - even if born abroad (and actually returned to China) - is not immunetion of U.S. courts.

So if you are a U.S. citizen - as mentioned above to understand - which is brought forth during a cruise on the sea in every ocean, the baby automatically an American too. But if you are a diplomat (ambassador or consul) in the United States in diplomatic affairs, and not under U.S. jurisdiction, the child is a citizen of a country, where they were.
http://answers.google.com/answers/thread ... had a similar problem. That was the question: "A person in a foreign ship was in the U.S. port or sailing in a native
the territorial sea of the United States acquires U.S. --
Citizenship at birth. However, U.S. citizenship is not conferred on a
Children born abroad) (other countries of the fathers in a ship bound for the United States, which had not yet attained twelve o'clock nautical miles.
Even a child born in an airplane for the United States or on the run
its territory to the U.S. to acquire citizenship at birth.
But the nationality of a child who is not of the affected

Citizenship for children of foreign parents. "

The nationality of the child's parent, the citizenship of the child may be determined by the land instead of the jurisdiction over the waters of the ship was at the birth of the child.

But if the child be born in international waters, then you have to go through the rule of blood and who gets the child of the same nationality as their parents.

I think that parents can choose where they go or where they came from.

My great grandmother was born on the ship, when his parents emigrated from Germany and I was born American says.

You can be what your parents. If you are the British - that would be a Briton. If you are an American - that is the United States.

Easy.
